Carl's Jr. Super Bowl 2015 Commercial

This Commercial was first aired during the Super Bowl of 2015. It features model Charlotte McKinney introducing Carl’s Jr. “all Natural, Juicy grass-fed Beef” Burger. According to the commercial, the burger’s patty has no antibiotics, no added hormones and no steroids.
Lately, the fast food industry has been greatly criticized for being unhealthy. However, in this commercial we see Carl’s Jr. trying to fire back that trend introducing a hamburger with a healthy beef patty. This is something very revolutionary for a burger. It reflects how the Food Industry is slowly changing thanks to the demand of higher food quality by more and more people.
I believe the add works because of its clever combination of visual elements. This combination ends up with a clear message: The all-natural woman represents the all-natural burger. In this comparison Carl’s Junior is saying: “Hey, All natural things, are not that bad tasting and they are healthy too. The old “sexy” woman appeal is not the main theme in the add(The healthy beef patty is) but definitely helps for “getting the point across.”
I believe the add is addressed to a young audience. College students could perfectly fit here. When in college, people are exposed to a wide range of information. Health issues are a growing trend among college circles nowadays. Topics like Organic foods, GMO, and grass fed beef vs corn fed beef are considered hot topics between savvy college students. Therefore, such a phrase like  “grass fed beef burger” would definitely have huge impact in young audiences because a healthy beef patty is the last thing you could expect from a fast-food chain.

Entertainment Industry Production: Is that a College Major?

The world of professional audio education is a fairly recent area of study in the academic scenario. Nowadays, more and more universities, music academies and recording studios are offering an audio education curriculum in their academic offer. I believe that this career is usually under estimated and under val
ued. Why? Mainly because used to become sound engineers in an empirical way. Nowadays, many people still learn that way, but we also have formal academic programs that teach students how to be a professional in the industry and business of sound production.
I decided to enroll in the Entertainment Industry Production program at USM because I like music and sound. At first, I though that it will be an “easy ride” type of career. I also thought that being a sound engineer simply consisted in pressing the red “record” button and that’s it, work done.  But of course, I was wrong. I discovered that the world of professional sound recording it’s a very complex discipline.
One of the most important skills of an audio engineer is a holistic understanding of sound. This may include understanding how sound travels through time and space. It involves learning complex principles of physics and acoustics. Then you move on to getting to know the equipment use d to make professional recordings such as : microphones, cables, consoles, audio softwares. But most important, you have to know when and how to used them in the most proper and accurate way.
Ultimately, the main reason that made me choose this career is the excitement it brings to my life. I get to exploit my creativity in ways that I never done before. It is a whole new world for me to discover and I can not wait to make my first professional recording/mixing project!

Determining the characteristics of well-written News

In his news article, “Obama will seek to lift order against immigrationplan,” David Jackson writes what we could call a well-written news story. I believe he is effective in his writing because of the overall clearness of his writing style. The article has a clear title and a well-written lead. The overall layout it’s simple and does not stray from the main point.
Jackson also manages to keep short sentences and paragraphs while still displaying all the important information. Moreover, he makes good use of quotations by giving them an appropriate attribution and a proper punctuation. In this way, he remains faithful to AP style throughout his entire news story.

In conclusion David Jackson’s news article is effective because of his clear way of writing and good use of AP style. Sometimes news not written in this way can be difficult to digest. For example, “The Apple Car” by Joseph Pagliery, follows a much more relaxed and disorganized way of writing. His use of too many pictures throughout his article is distracting and easily makes the reader to stray away from the main topic. This shows that we always have to keep in mind to deliver news in an objective, effective and faithful way.

News in the Modern World: The Faster, The Better.

We leave in a world where everything has become fast-paced. We want our food, things we order from the Internet, and mail to be delivered in the shortest amount of time. The News is not an exception to this. People my age; seldom pick up a newspaper for getting their news. We primarily get our news from the Internet via our laptops or phones.
My primary medium for getting and reading my news is Google News. I am a huge Google fan. I believe that Google has set the standard for many of the web media we utilize these modern days. Google’s newest browser for example (Chrome), surpasses by far any other Internet browser out there at this moment. Google News interface is not the exception. Their interface is just superb. It’s also clear and user friendly. One of the main traits I like from Google News is that it allows you to sort the news by the topic you are interested in. Moreover, Google News will save you news preferences so you can always receive News from issues you are interested in.

My secondary source of news is Marca. This is a website with headquarters in Spain that specializes in sports with an extra emphasis in Soccer. As I mentioned in my first post I am a huge soccer fan. Therefore more of the news I am interested in is soccer News. I like this website for that matters because of the personal and characteristic taste they give to their news. By personal taste I mean their spiciness in their news coverage. They usually adorn their News with controversial headlines that are very effective for these types of news. Whether it is local, international or sports News, I always look for websites like Google News or Marca because they can deliver News just the way I like them.

My very first post in a blog!

Hello everyone! My name is Johann David Bonilla, but people just call me David. I am an international student from Honduras, Central America. I came to Southern Miss in 2012(I'm a Junior now) and I am majoring in Recording Industry Production. I'm also a violinist.
I started studying the violin when I was 7 years old. Music has always been a central part of my life. I believe I have been blest with the gift of music because it has given me the opportunity to study in a different and more developed country, such as the U.S. Currently, I am an active member of USM's Symphony Orchestra
Even though music holds a very important place in my life, it is not “my everything.” I love sports: soccer in specific. I am very passionate about it. The first time I saw the Honduran national team qualify to the World Cup, I almost broke the TV where I was watching the game with other friends. And of course, I was in tears and yelling like crazy. LOL. Oh, and by the way, in that occasion Honduras qualified thanks to the U.S. beating Costa Rica. Americans never were so loved in Honduras as in that glorious day.
So yes, I can be a conservative and calm person when it comes to classical music, but I can also be crazy, loud, and even “too passionate” when it comes to watch or play soccer games. That pretty much sums up who I am! Hope to hear more from you all in order to get to know each other better. Peace.
